Near Field
Near field refers to the electromagnetic field within 1/10 wavelength range, and the main coupling method is magnetic field coupling.
NFC technology takes advantage of the characteristics of a short near-field action distance (usually within 20 cm), high security, non-contact operation, and fast transmission rate. It is applied in close-range communication scenarios such as access control and mobile payments.
Wireless charging technology is an energy transfer technology based on the principle of electromagnetic induction and is mainly used in the near-field, that is, the coupling field. Although the operating range is short, it has high conversion efficiency and large power capacity. Utilizing its non-contact characteristics is beneficial for improving the waterproof performance and versatility of the product.
Amphenol has over 15 years of extensive experience in the field of near-field communication. It has designed and produced various antennas for NFC and wireless charging products in consumer electronics and industrial electronics.
